Integration Analyst

VITL is seeking an Integration Analyst to build, monitor and support the networks and interfaces that enable the electronic exchange of health data for the Vermont Health Information Exchange (HIE). The ideal candidate will have broad experience with modern data integration technologies, such as Mirth or Rhapsody, strong network troubleshooting skills, and specific experience with HL7 and FHIR standards.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Build, monitor, and maintain healthcare data integrations using interface engines such as Mirth and Rhapsody
  • Collaborate with data analysts and project managers to satisfy project deliverables and meet project timelines
  • Conduct test plans and support data quality activities
  • Monitor and support network connectivity and data flow across data contributor interfaces.
  • Monitor and support the availability, performance, security, and scalability of the data integration platform
  • Provide support for the Client Engagement team on issues related to connectivity, the Provider Portal, or other client services
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues in support of service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Provide off hours support for critical maintenance or problem resolution
  • Collaborate across teams to share knowledge that informs optimal service delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps

Characteristics of an Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, health informatics, or related field. Relevant industry experience may be substituted for degree requirements
  • Relevant industry certification(s) are a plus
  • 2-3 years’ experience in Information Technology
  • 2-3 years’ experience with healthcare integration engines such as Mirth Connect and Rhapsody
  • 2-3 years’ experience with healthcare information systems
  • Proficiency with interoperability standards including HL7 V2.X, V3, IHE Profile, HL7 FHIR, CDA and X12
  • Proficiency with message types including ADT, ORU, VXU; and clinical terminologies such as SNOMED, CT, LOINC, CPT, ICD-10 and RxNorm
  • Proficiency troubleshooting network issues and familiarity with TCP/IP, WebServices, and SFTP
  • Strong aptitude to learn new languages, tools, and frameworks
  • Excellent technical, analytical and project management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Location: 

The VITL team is currently working remotely. The ideal candidate will live in Vermont and be available for in-person meetings. However, the Integration Analyst position can be performed remotely by a candidate willing to travel as necessary. All VITL employees must live in and work from the United States; VITL’s preference is someone located in the Eastern or Central times zones.
