Randy Farmer
President & CEO
Randy Farmer brings to VITL more than a decade of executive leadership experience and a deep understanding of health data services. He most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at Delaware Health Information Network (DHIN), one of the country’s leading health information exchanges. His accomplishments include expanding health data exchange utilization, developing services to best support providers and patients, and driving data sharing innovations that support patient care, care coordination, public health, and health system performance.
Before joining DHIN, Randy held senior management roles at JPMorganChase in strategic partnerships and corporate communications. He holds a Master of Science in Human Organization Science from Villanova University, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Delaware. Randy’s extensive community volunteer experience includes Chairing the Board of Directors of Delaware Public Media, supporting Meals on Wheels, and coaching Little League.
Cara Callanan
Chief Financial Officer
Cara Callanan brings more than thirty years of financial experience to VITL. Prior to joining VITL, Cara spent the last decade managing the accounting needs at numerous universities in New England, including Harvard University, where she served as an accounting manager earlier in her career. More recently, Cara served as the CFO at Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachusetts, and then as vice president of finance and controller at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.
Cara received her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Villanova University and Master of Business Administration from Kenan Flagler Business School, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Nicole Ball
Chief Operating Officer
Nicole Ball is a strategic growth and client experience leader who brings more than twenty-five years of experience developing marketing strategies, building high-performing teams, and driving growth across the healthcare, technology, and financial services sectors. Prior to joining VITL, Nicole held leadership roles at several Fortune 100 and 500 organizations where she accelerated growth, strengthened customer experiences, employee engagement, and expanded technology adoption. Throughout her career, Nicole has held senior leadership roles at SVB Private, Capital One Investing, Citibank, and JPMorgan Chase.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Scranton.
Sue Fritz
Director of Security, Risk, and Resilience
Sue has over thirty years of experience managing a wide variety of information technology solutions and leading impactful IT teams. Prior to joining VITL, Sue led technology teams at Burlington Electric Department and Champlain College. She’s also taught as an adjunct professor in networking and systems administration and consulted for various small to mid-size organizations.
Sue received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Resource Economics from the University of Vermont.
Justin Tease
Director of Project Management Office
Justin has spent his twenty-three year career in the health care information technology and project delivery and management field. Prior to joining VITL, Justin managed teams in the public and private sectors. At Deloitte Consulting, he advised hospitals and national and regional insurers on health care technology delivery. As Director of Implementation for Vermont Health Connect, he helped launch Vermont’s health insurance exchange. Justin also advanced the Project Management Office’s maturity and project delivery approach at National Life.
Justin holds an MBA and undergraduate degree from Boston College.
Sarah Thompson
Director of Client Services & Communications
Sarah Thompson brings more than twenty years of leadership experience across the healthcare, consumer products, ecommerce, and technology sectors, where she has built high-performing teams, led organizational change, and delivered measurable business results. Before joining VITL, Sarah served as the Director of Marketing at Danforth Pewter and held leadership roles at Concept2 and Seventh Generation.
Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Wesleyan University and is a Certified Nationally Registered EMT.
Michelle Cordeiro
Privacy and Compliance Director
Michelle Cordeiro brings more than thirty years of leadership experience in regulatory compliance, contract analysis and negotiation, process development, and change management. Prior to joining VITL, Michelle served as the Director of Privacy and Contracts at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, Vermont, where she focused on regulatory and legal compliance, education and training, internal investigations and incident response, contract analysis and drafting, organizational policy, and project management. Michelle was previously the Director of the Hospitalist Program at Rutland Regional Medical Center, and she has also held leadership roles at the Office of the Public Defender – Rutland, Keane, Inc., Blue Cross Blue Shield Vermont, the Eclipsys Corporation, Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare, and as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force.
Michelle holds a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, Boston, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Emmanuel College, Boston, an Art Associates in Design and Media Studies and Certificate in Studio Art from the Community College of Vermont, Rutland, and attended Massachusetts College of Art, Boston.
